Chrysemys picta bellii    (Schneider, 1783)

A real beauty - considered by many to be one of the most colorful turtles. There are still many turtles of this species around here in southern British Columbia. They are said to be the largest of the four sub-species and I have seen a number of specimens exceeding 20 cm in length in the wild.
